About Us
Dale and Rachel Kentner are dedicated visionaries, who saw the special and unique potential to bring the lodge back to life. It's their commitment to share this piece of tranquil magical paradise to all who visit. They spent a significant amount of time falling in love here as guests, both with each other and the property. Given the opportunity to own the property, they jumped all in without hesitation.
They share the inn with their horses and two dogs. Rachel loves to bake, and you will typically have fresh baked breads and desserts available. Dale keeps our fires going and you often find him tinkering on his John Deeres..
The lodge is nestled in a little valley giving protection from the wind and elements. The upper part of the property affords an ocean view. The beach is a quick 2 mile drive to the nearest public parking area. Gold Beach proper with shopping and restaurants is about a five minute drive north.
History
The lodge has a long history in the area, initially built as a private residence, producing an abundance of fruit and vegetables as a small farm. The small farmhouse included a large attached greenhouse which was later converted into living space.
Several owners over many years put their personal touches and additions to the property, and primarily operated as a vacation rental and event venue. The lodge is currently situated on 35 acres of woodlands with several meadows, a creek and breathtaking waterfall, perfect for photo staging.
Facility
Guest can enjoy 6800 sq ft of living area in the main Lodge, in five separate suites and communally enjoy an array of amenities. The Lilly Glen TREE HOUSE is breathtaking enchatment, overlooking the waterfall. We offer a western themed bar with a full kitchen, pool table, air hockey, card tables, and a sitting area well stocked with games for family relaxation. There are two additional large common great rooms, with large gas fireplaces, and a grand piano for your enjoyment. We offer a gym with a tread mill, free weights, elliptical, Bowflex, tread climber and misc. exercise items. The gym also has a infared sauna, large hot tub and complete guest laundry facilities. There is plenty of parking with a wrap around drive, perfect for equestrian and angler guests. It's important that all guests feel they are at home, with clean rooms, great food and special touches to make your stay enjoyable. Nightly, weather permitting, we have a bonfire and complimentary S'mores! Try your luck at gold panning in the creek or our wash station.
Commitment
Taylor Creek Lodge appreciates all types of guests and lifestyle choices and expects all guest to be respectful of each other. We encourage guests to interact and get to know one another and learn from each other, be it through a game of pool, breakfast, or card/game tournament. If you are looking for complete solitude we get it, just let staff know, and we will accommodate.
We strive to meet the needs of all our guests and offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, dairy free and or just about any dietary needs. Just give us a heads up at booking and we can work through a menu tailored specifically to you.
